Camera recs

Anyone want to recommend a good cheap camera for taking pictures of your LO. I don't want anything complicated like a DSLR (I don't have the time to learn how to use it properly), but would like to look into something that can catch great action shots for smiles and movements and such. I have a sony cybershot, and it's only a couple of years old, but the pictures of my LO are really blurry when she moves only slightly. TIA

Re: Camera recs

  • We just bought the brand new Canon P&S.  120IS.  I like that you can do a lot of things manually if you want to (e.g., set it to "kids and pets") but you don't have to and it isn't nearly as complicated as a DSLR.  One of the major reasons we got that one is it fits in your pocket and shoots HD video.   We have another P&S that is a few years old and it takes okay video (not HD) and we noticed that we usually use that since it is handy and in DH's pocket or my purse and we rarely break out the real video camera (even though it is better quality).  Good luck deciding!

ETA: Below is a pic ("Auto" mode) from this weekend's bounce party indoors (not great lighting) where DS was going down a slide.
