While I'm pining after the Baby Jogger City Select double stroller, I'm trying to be a bit more realistic price wise. DH and I can't justify spending $700+ on a stroller even though I'm in love with it.
The closest comparison I've been able to find is the Kolcraft Contours Tandem. Does anyone have this stroller? I'm looking for some reviews on this one before we actually make the purchase. TIA!!
Re: Kolcraft Contours Tandem
Hated this stroller.

I have it and I LOVE it...
I read the post (in the link above) and I disagree with some of it. Having it for 5 months now, I love it even more. You can recline the seat closest to the handle, it's tricky but I did it. The shades are NOT flimsy at all, I assume it was just the floor model that the pp was using.
I used a coupon and it was exactly $200. Well worth it for me. I use it every single day, my 20 month old loves it and has plenty of room to grow.
If you have more questions or would like to see more pictures, let me know and I'll post for you. Good luck:)
You give me hope!! Where did you buy yours? I'd love to get it for only $200. And yes, I'd love to see some more pictures. Have you used the infant seat adaptor? Is it easy to use?
Also, is it a total pain to take the seats off when you go to fold it? That was my main hold up, but I guess you just get used to it!?!
I bought the newest one, the Contours Options Tandem by Kolcraft, it's grey and orange from albeebaby.com it was $230.
It's not really that heavy, 21 lbs...I can lift it. It folds alright, the seats come off easy, yeah its long, but it's only one inch shorter then the baby jogger city select.
the car seat adapter is easy....plus think about this, it comes with two seats, 2 cupholders, parent organizer, car seat adapter, 2 belly bars...think about how much that would cost if you bought it all from baby jogger.
It pushes like a dream, i can recline the first seat for DD2 and DD1 is sitting comfortably in the front seat facing out.
the big basket is nice.
yeah i love the city select, but my dh would disown me for spending $800-900 on a stroller.
Pleased to hear that it was just me who disliked the model I saw in the stores. Like I said, I really wanted to love this stroller and for the price you can't beat it. But I grew to hate my Peg Perego P3 because of the heaviness factor (and I am a regular body pump girl). I needed a double that will primarily be in and out of my SUV and this was too big for my needs.
FWIW, I ended up going with a twin Maclaren techno which is safe for newborns up. I love my single Mac, so I will love this one as well.
SOLD!! Ok...I'm in. This is what we're getting! Thanks ladies.
