humidifier ??

I'm thinknin of getting DD a humidifier for her room. She has a mild case of excema and is always congested. Should I get one? If so, do I get the warm mist or cool mist humidifier?? Whats the reasoning for using one over the other? Anyone have experience with either...thanks!!

Re: humidifier ??

  • Get a cool mist.  The warm mist can get mildew inside and when LO is older if they play around/with it can possibly burn them.  I got a vicks humidifier at walmart for pretty cheap (can be used without the medicine)

Cool mist is recommended because they are less likely to grow bacteria. We have the Crane pig humidifier and it works great. Crane makes them in all different kinds of animal shapes, they're really cute. For her congestion, you can also get baby saline nose spray. That helps loosen her boogers so you can suck them out.

Always use cool for babies. We have the Crane Elephant and it works great. DD was born in Dec. so I ran it 24/7 till it got hotter outside. And the Little Noses Saline spray did wonders for DD when she got a cold. They HATE it, but when she was stuffed up it was the only way to clear her out enough so she could take a full feeding, or sleep.
