For those of you who have taken your recalled meds to Target, did you have to call and get the ok first from someone at the store or did you just go there with your meds? Were they already opened/used bottles that they took back as well?
I called on Saturday before I went into Target and talked with the Manager. I just wanted to see if they had heard of the recall yet and what actions they were planning on taking on their end.
She said they will take back opened and un-opened bottles, no receipt needed if I did not have it.
I will worn you though that their custermer department is lacking on info and are looking up recalled meds by Lot number not DNC number which is what McNeil is recalling so they will say your items are not recalled and although they will give you a refund they will put points towards your DL number for their store records.
Its not really a big deal but it sucks that they dont have their stuff together. Just remind them that its NDC number NOT Lot number.

Good Luck!
This isn't true with every Target. Mine did not put points towards me for the return. They were actually really, really great about it. Also, regardless of what number they are looking it up by, if they have pulled it from their shelves they should do the return for you with no issues.

The target I went to was really helpful and gave me a full refund with no questions. However they did put points against my DL, because I did not have a receipt and was unsure of how I paid for it so they could not look it up. Others have had the same issue at target.
If you had a receipt or knew how you paid for it I doubt you have any points put towards your DL. If not I would not be surprised if you did. They do not have to tell you they put points against your DL. I did not know until I asked them.
I want to target & the lady said she could not help me & had to wait until it was on the CDC's website (odd I know) I am going to go back today & try again

This may be a stupid question, but what is a DL number? Also, I took mine back to Duane Reade this morning and the guy didn't feel like looking anything up, so he just guesstimated the price for the refund.

She specifically told me that they were not giving me points. She said it's their policy to not give points if the product was recalled.
I agree, the product was recalled but their customer service says that is was withdrawn not recalled. I just spent 30 min on the phone with them, lol. Still have the points. Did the lady you talk to call customer service while you were there? If not then I think that is the reason. Your lady knew that it was a recall. My lady had not hurt of it yet so she had to call CS and at thig point because target head quarters is calling it a withdraw it does not fall under their recall policy.
I even tried to explain to the lady on the phone that Johnson and Johnson plus McNeil both have "Recall" on their website not withdraw.
However like I said the important thing is the refund which I had no problem getting.
FYI- Target does not use recall refunds against your DL. I just took our recalled crib back, and since I didn't have the receipt, they took my DL, but they assured me it doesn't count against my returns w/o receipt for the year. You can pull up their recall policy online.

Yes your right expect they are saying the medication I brought back was not recalled. It was "withdrawn" there for it counts for their stupid point system, lol.

She did call CS, but ended up getting off the phone with the guy because he kept telling her it was withdrawn and not recalled. She was pretty annoyed with him

DL is your Drivers License number.
