Hi all!  My first visit here after being on The Knot site during our wedding preparation everyday:)  So we've been married a year 5/9, and we are expecting our first baby in December:)  Our first appt is this week - what should to happen?  Thanks!

at my first appointment, I think they just confirmed the pregnancy, but I only met with a nurse. Filled out a lot of paperwork and we just talked about what to expect with all of the future appointments and with the hospital.

It wasn't all that exciting.....sorry

thanks for responding, quiksilver:)  i have already been in once where they took blood and confirmed the pregnancy - do they confirm it again in a different way?  thanks!

at 7 weeks you can have an ultrasound!

during my first appt- they confirmed pregnancy with a urine test, weighed me, blood pressure, took a medical history, I recieved flu and H1N1 shot (dec), had a vaginal exam, gave blood, and discussed all my questions with the nurse practicioner (I was there about an hour and a half).
