Babies: 0 - 3 Months

DD #2 had her first shower!

Yes, I said shower. We don't have a bath tub in our house just a shower stall. I find baby tubs awkward, and honestly what baby really enjoys a "bath" in one of those things? Anyway, DD #2 spit up all over the place, in my hair, down my back, in her hair... just... yuck! So into the shower we went and much to my relief she loved it, just like her big sister! Her eyes were open the whole time and she didn't utter a sound! Life is good!

  • Aww!  My DD and I have been taking showers together occasionally since she was little.  She loves taking showers also.  She tries to eat the water.  It is so funny.  Only thing I hate is how slippery they are.  When she was smaller I was always afraid I would drop her.

I love to hear that other moms do this!  Your DD is a few years younger than my 1st DD, who also took showers as an infant, but I love how she isn't afraid of getting her face wet! It makes teaching them to swim that much easier!

  • That good to know about the swimming.   I plan on enrolling DD in swim classes and I am hoping she isn't afraid of the water.  She loves showers and baths so I am assuming she will do great.

I think showering with your LO is so much easier especially when you need to be quick.  DH will just had me DD and I wash her really fast and DH dresses her while I finish.  Baths just take too long when you are in a hurry.

The earlier the better,  water safety is so important. Good luck!
