Just curious, does anyone know why they do the injectable PIO after a fresh cycle but then do the progesterone suppositories for FET?

Also, after my last transfer for the fresh cycle, I started Medrol and Tetracycline that same day. This time they're having me start two days before transfer, does that seem right? I think I will only be on them for one day past the transfer in that case, and I thought they were supposed to do their thing after transfer so I thought that was a little odd.

I never did PIO. I think it really comes down to RE preference. I did Endometrin supps for my fresh cycle and Prometrium supps for my FET. I took doxycycline for my fresh cycle but never for my FET.  I took the doxy for my ER not my transfer though. I am not sure I am much help. But good luck with everything. I really think it mostly is RE preference because I am pretty sure some girls have used PIO for their FETs.

I did PIO for both IVF and FET.  It really is just RE preference.

We do PIO for both fresh and frozen cycles. In my paperwork it says they only do medrol and tetracycline for 3 day transfers for frozen cycles--I took it for my fresh cycle but don't remember when. I won't do it for my fet because it will be a 5 day transfer.

Mine was the opposite. Supp. for fresh, pio for FET. My RE said that with a frozen cycle they have a lot more work to do getting the body to wear it would be with a fresh beacuse of all the hormones.

I think it's completely RE preference.  I did suppositories for my first IVF, and PIO for my FET and 2nd IVF.

I never did medrol and tetracycline, but they do stay in your system after you finish taking them.

For my FETs I am actually taking a combo of PIO and endometrin.  I am also taking doxycyline.  I started the morning before transfer.
