Hold the phone- I thought it was good in a regular freezer for 6 months and 12 months in a deep freezer. But I just read it's 3 months in a regular freezer!
Ok, I'm back, the freezer Kellymom refers to is one INSIDE the refrigerator...like this in a dorm refrigerator.
At least one LC has told me that ALL modern refrigerator/freezers are deep freezes. (I don't really agree with that)
I'm much more comfortable with this number from kellymom for a normal freezer...which would be SELF CONTAINED (that's a different door for the freezer than the fridge
Self-contained freezer unit
of a refrigerator/freezer
Varies
3-6 months
Separate deep freeze
0?F / 19?C
6-12 months
I consider a separate deep freeze to be a freezer only unit.
Keep in mind, cold air goes down so, you'll want to store as close to the bottom as possible AND you'll want to store closer to the back or in a brown bag for insulation
I think that means a freezer that is in the same compartment as a fridge, like a mini fridge with the little freezer box. The separate freezer, like most fridges have, is 3 months.
I think it also depends on the type of bag you freeze it in, the medela says 6-12 months..I also put the bags in a freezer bag that is what my LC suggested just as extra protection. Since I get about 3 bags a day I usually put 2 days worth of the medela bags with milk in a freezer bag.
If you look at the FULL CHART on Kelly mom, it goes on to list Self contained freezer units (regular freezer) 3-6 months, and Deep Freeze (6-12 months. Don't give partial info!!! It obviously freaks people out!!

I did read the whole thing. I also c&p'd the whole thing- it just showed up weird on here. For some reason in my mind I didn't realize that the freezer compartment on my fridge was a self contained. It was a simple misunderstanding on my part.
I hardly see anyone freaked out here (other than myself).
Re: Frozen BM
Ick. According to kellymom.com it's only good for 2 weeks.
inside refrigerator (older-style)
That's what I am wondering. I currently have 160 oz. in my freezer...I hate the idea of dumping it.
Hold the phone! Don't throw anything away! brb
Maybe. Of course I'd have to buy a deep freeze, LOL.
waiting for Mrs.BoomBoom.....

I've never heard 2 weeks in the freezer. That's ridiculous!
