Just curious. I was told to go in for a check-up a month after giving birth (even when I called asking about different issues I was having). I saw posts where some of you said you had a four week or two week follow up. Was that common? Seemed weird to me they didn't want to check on me till 5-6 weeks later.
Re: when was your first check up after giving birth?
This...I had a c/s and a few complications.
My 365 Blog
DS 4th degree tear: 4 weeks
DD1: Pre-e 3 days after discharge, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks
DD2: c-section 1 week PP for staple removal, and then 4 weeks for PP check and internal.
I had to go back 2 weeks PP I had a pretty bad tear so my OB wanted to check it out to see if it'd need to be repaired. Thankfully it was healing fine

Our midwives do a standard 2 week then 6 week model. They see both baby and mom at the 2 week (and didn't do an internal or anything for me, but would have had there been tearing or anything). The 6 week is just for me. It worked out nice because I got time to ask questions about what was going on with me. They also had a questionnaire for me re:PPD just in case. We didn't meet baby's pediatrician until his 1 month checkup, which I think isn't typical. Most peds will see the baby at 2 week as well, this meant less leaving the house for baby and I early on.
The midwives practice also did a home visit 2 days after we got home from the birth. They have been very available over the phone etc as well.
