I know this is more of an AP question, but I want your advice, 'cause I like you better.
We took Jack out and about today in our Evenflo Snugli. We went to Free Comic Book Day (got him his first comic; a Fraggle Rock one shot), and then walked around Best Buy for half an hour. Bun wore Jack the whole time, and they both seemed happy and fine.
However, now Bun's back/tummy are sore. We're hoping to take Jack to the Alamo and the Riverwalk soon, and we would trade off wearing him then. It's very warm here in South Central Texas, and we want something that won't be too hot, but is still a carrier like the Snugli, only maybe with more back support. Anybody got any recommendations?
Re: Snugli Infant Carrier
I also want to know what you had for dinner.
Never been to that restaurant, but we'll look it up!
I dunno if Bun would wear a Moby. We've talked about it but he isn't very comfortable with just some knots holding Jack on. Lol
We're considering an Ergo.. but I dunno if babies can face out, and Jack really likes to look.
I'm about to make grilled chicken tacos; grill chicken, cut into strips, put in tortillas, add cheese and salsa.
Easy peasy, and it'll go nicely with our Corona & Limes.
That sounds sooo good! Maybe we will have turkey tacos tonight... Except it's snowing, tacos aren't exactly snow food.
ETA: a quick google search shows Beco MAY be an option. Can't tell if you can forward face baby in it though. What about a baby bjorn? I know they don't have the best reviews but isn't it just a classier/more comfortable Snugli?
Yeah, we were hoping to get one that wouldn't put quite so much pressure on his hips, but we may consider the bjorn.
Had a snugli given to us and hated it b/c of the lack of back support. I started getting sore as soon as DD1 hit like nine pounds.
I used a hotsling, but didn't get it until around four months and it was great from then on using a hip carry with DD1. But DD2 doesn't care for it right now in the cradle hold, which is pretty much all I can use at this age.
The carrier I have now and LOVE is the Beco. However, you can only do front-carry facing in (not out) and a back carry. You can do more positions with the Ergo (like a hip carry), but I thought the Beco had more head support, liked the way it distributed weight better, and thought it came in cuter fabrics.
Plus the weight limit is high enough that I can use it with either my newborn or my toddler and still be comfy.
Another option would be one of the Baby Bjorn carriers (easier to find than an Ergo or Beco, since BRU carries them). I think they all do front carries with the baby facing out, and they have better back support options than the snugli.
