Parenting after a Loss

Dr. Suess was a very smart man ...

We have a ton of Dr. Suess books.  Most of which were my mothers, that were passed down to me and now to Addie.  "Horton Hears A Who" is my favorite. It has an amazing message, one that I try to keep in mind everyday.  My H just bought Addie "Oh The Places You'll Go."  I hadn't read that in a while. It's also a good one. That Dr. Suess was a smart guy.

  • We read "The Foot Book" to DD every day.  She loves it!
  • This post made me think, who is Dr. Suess?  So I just looked him up and he was a very interesting man.  Not a Dr although he did work on a PhD, a veteran, he didn't win any awards (such as the Newbery Award) while living...

    Overall a very interesting man!

  • Quite. We actually read The Lorax aloud to the science class I co-teach today. They're 8th graders, and were actually quiet for a change and listened to the whole thing... :)
  • I did a paper on The Lorax (ahead of its time RE: environmental themes) for a creative writing class in college & got an A+.

DH loves reading Seuss books to baby.

  • Hugh Dr. Suess fan!  I even have Gertrude McFuzz memorized from when my little brother (9 years younger than me)  wanted it read to him everynight.
