I've got a Transfer schedule!

This morning I met with the RE about part two of our first IVF. 

Backstory:  I'm part of a study where we got randomized to freeze the fertilized eggs at a pronuclear phase and transfer after the body normalizes from stims/ER.

We saw pics of our 7 embies (we call them the von trapp family singers, we are dorks).  Fascinating.  We're told they look great, but my RE is very blunt about expectations with me because I prefer to be well prepared and don't take to 'candy coating' well.  He says that it's typical for 20-25% of embryos to make it to blast, so we are hoping for 1 blast, maybe 2 for ET which will be June 17!

It's SO far away, but I'm excited.   Just now, 1 week post ER, feeling "normal"  Still bloated and desperately in need of a massage to work out all the kinks left over from being all hunched up for several days.

The good thing is shots don't resume for me until mid-may and then it's just subQ Lupron until the dreaded PIO just before transfer. 

Seven weeks from now I will *hopefully* have at least one of the Von Trapps on board!

Thanks so much.  I'm just hoping we get 1 . . .  My biggest fear is that we won't get any to transfer! If that happens I really don't know what we'll do.   We're all OOP and the cost of IVF is so extreme.   I just can't see tapping into our retirement or emergency funds or depleting our general accounts.  I know that's weird, but I have a lot of anxiety about financial security. 

We talked today if it doesn't work we might consider a second try, but it's just as likely that we will move to adoption or change our plans altogether and plan a child-free life.

It all felt very "real" today.

Good luck! I think the study you're in is really interesting. After going through my first IVF, it really makes sense to me to let your body get back to normal before the transfer. Good luck!

That sounds like an interesting study!! I'm hoping the reason our first IVF failed is just because my body was a mess from all the drugs and that our natural FET will be key. Sounds like that's kind of what the study is looking at too?

Crossing my fingers for the von Trapps and hoping the next 7 weeks will go quickly!!
