I went to my family doctor today, I've been battling for a year now, but never said alright, something is up go see a doctor. It has gotten so bad that I caved. She told me that your hormones can get all crazy during pregnancy and after pregnancy, even now with me at 13 months she called it PPD. I got a script for Zoloft from her.
I did call my OB and since I had my baby 13 months ago, they wouldn't see me for PPD, they told me I had to see my family doctor.
I'm sorry you're not feeling well :-( It's definitely not too late for PPD. If you don't get what you need from your OB, push to see a psychiatrist and a therapist. I'm now seeing both (psych just for meds), and I feel like I'm in very good hands. Good luck with your appointment!
I'm sure I had PPD before I was diagnosed when my LO was 9 months old. It took me a long time to get help. I was prescribed Zoloft, and was terrified of taking it. My LO is 13 months old and I just popped the first pill a few minutes ago.
It got seriously worse with my first PP period (9 months) and I thought maybe giving my body time to 'get back to normal' would help. My periods are a nightmare now, compared to pre-baby. I couldn't wait anymore. I hope my these meds work.
Re: anyone diagnosed at 10m pp or later?
