When can I put the "adopting" badge in my siggy?

I know I'll be adopting, but we aren't really in the process right now. Can I put it in now, or do I wait until we have started our home study and whatnot?

oh, I'm kidding - personally, I think once you've made the commitment to yourself that you'll be pursuing adoption, then it's appropriate to add the badge.
