Knit hats for July/August?

I love the cute knit hats on etsy for newborns, but if the twins are born in late July/early August - isn't it going to be too hot for hats? Or does the hospital put them on for the first couple days anways?

You would think I have done this before and I would know. But DD was born in Dec, where hats were not optional. 

Worth it or not?

    me too.  etsy is so great!

    the hosp is going to be cool.  and you can use the hats to take cute nb pics.  other than that, you probably won't use them.

    I received two red/white knit hats for my July/Aug boys, and I totally plan to use them.  They're too cute to NOT!  Smile  I'd stear clear of anything wool or heavy material and you should be fine.  Their little melons need to stay warm all year.

    do you have air conditioning? if so, you will want them. just get lightweight ones.

    We had the one that the hospital gave us and she wore it that first day home and that was it.

    Do you know how to knit/crochet? I've always planned on making my own...once you get going you can have a crochet one done in about 30min-1hr.

    Ugh I think I talked myself out of it. I ended up buying artwork for the kids bedrooms on Etsy and looked at jewelry.

    I don't have air, so it will be way to hot. And while I technically know how to crotchey I am 1) terrible and 2) lazy and tired.
