So I have to tell you guys about my day yesterday, because it's too pathetically funny not to share.
I get up in the morning, and as usual (for the past two weeks), Leo is already whining and screaming nonstop, and nothing helps. This is by far the toughest age I swear, and the constant screaming has been driving me up a wall. Plus, for the past few days I have had a really hard time sleeping, and I was exhausted. Finally I was like, wow, I seriously can't take this anymore. Time to find Leo a preschool!
I called one that is right by our house, and what do you know, they had a cancellation for their summer program yesterday, and there is a spot for Leo if I want it. They said I could come check them out right then.
So I pile the kids in the car, and drive over there. The woman who answered was wearing way too much makeup and it bugged me a lot (keep in mind, I was already a couple feet past the end of my rope). I asked her about the hours of the program and she said that it was 6:30am to 6:30pm! I was like "Um...is this a preschool or is this a daycare?" She said it's more of a daycare, and I was like, wtf! Your website clearly states that this is a preschool. We go on the rest of the little tour, and I was so confused the whole time. Nothing was right, I knew already there was no way I was sending him here. At the end she shows me their tuition rates, which are at least DOUBLE what they told me on the phone! I said that to her, and at the same time, looked at the little header on the paper.
It was the WRONG PLACE!! LOL! So I apologized and called my husband, and it turns out there is another place across the street, and that is where I had called. By this time I'm totally frustrated. Leo was fighting me too hard to get him into his seat first (I was wearing Charlie and was afraid he'd get kicked), so I left him parked in the stroller and went to get Charlie situated. When I went back over to Leo he had escaped his stroller and was making a run for it! I about died. By this time, there were people watching me from the playground. I wrestled (and I do mean wrestled) Leo into his seat, practically in tears, and jumped into the car and started backing out.
At which point I hit my stroller (keep in mind, people are still watching). I jump out of the car to grab it, but it had already rolled clear across the parking lot. Kill me now. I drove after it, got it tucked away safely, and took off.
Thankfully this story has a happy ending. I made it to the right place, loved it, and enrolled Leo for summer and fall. Now I only have to make it until June 1st, and I'll have two guaranteed breaks per week. Yay! Hope this gave some of you a little morning entertainment ![]()
Re: Laugh at me
note to self: do NOT do 2 under 2.
I hope today is better!
I know right!? Seriously, I looked like a total basket case. I'm pretty sure if any currently childless person had seen me yesterday they would have sworn off kids forever.
I was thinking the same thing.
That's awesome. You'll love to tell this story when your boys are older
sorry to hear about the lousy day.. but at least you found a preschool that you love for Leo..
Btw, just a warning for you that the kids will get sick often.. DD goes to a preschool from 9-2.. and she gets sick OFTEN.. then she gets all smoochy with her little brother and gets DS sick too.. the cycle never ends..
Hopefully Leo has a stronger body immune system than DD.. anyway, it's for the best.. at least your DS#2 will have sometime alone just with you.. Enjoy!
Oh yeah, this one is going in the baby book!
Oh what a day. I'm so glad things worked out, though.
It really makes me wonder about my mom having three under three. I finally understand now why she told us she never should have had kids. :P
this!
I'm so sorry about your day! It would have brought me to tears too.
Glad you can laugh about it now, though. I giggled too, so thanks for the entertainment. I hope that today is much smoother!
oh my. poor thing! I'm glad to hear that it worked out for Leo though. June 1st will be here before you know it!
I have to say that I think I could have written this. I've done the exact same thing at MDO when I have tried to get the boys strapped in and one is fighting the seat because he does NOT want to be back in the car and the other is screaming how much he hates going home and wants to stay at school forever. One time, I just got everyone in (and the stroller AFTER someone knocked on my window to remind me) and pulled out of the parking lot and into the other just to start bawling.
Hang in there and I hope today is better for you!

Wow! That sounds rough. I'm glad you were able to get Leo into a program though! We are still looking for Griffin.

lmfao. For REAL. You need to print this out to look back on someday.
I totally hear you on the screaming. omfg. Anderson screamed half the morning today and I thought one of us was going to have to go.
And I'm insanely jealous of your summer program for Leo. Good work!
