When do you go to 2 feedings?

Maddy has been having rice cereal and applesauce for about 2 weeks now, at what point do you start another feeding?

Re: When do you go to 2 feedings?

  • we were just at the pedi today and she said once they are eating over 34oz of formula or breasmilk(if you pump) you can go ahead and do 2 feedings.  We are going to start sweet potatoes this weekend and he has had rice cereal, so we are going to do cereal in the am and veggie at night.  we will eventually introduce a fruit to the cereal

  • We were told that after doing one feeding for about 4 weeks we could add in a second.  We started rice cereal at 4 months.  We added oatmeal at 5 months.
  • We just started rice cereal a few days ago, so I'm doing that for 2 weeks, then adding a 2nd feeding of veggies in the evening.

When we began solids, Pedi said we could do 2 tablespoons twice a day.

We do oatmeal cereal (he hated rice) mixed with fruit in the a.m., and a veggie for dinner.

    So far, so good.

  • I was wondering this too. Thanks for posting. Sounds like it might be time for us to add feeding #2 to his schedule! YEAH! I love new things!
