F/U to "ruining nips"

Since I got such GREAT response, I'll post the followup chat we had on the BFing ruining nips thing this past weekend.

And of course, there was a bottle of wine involved.  

Me: "So, tell me more about this ruining nips thing.. you really don't want to BF because of that?"

Him: "What? No.  I didn't mean not to BF, a child getting breast milk is CRITICAL."

Me: "Wait, now I'm confused. I thought you didn't want to ruin the..."

Him: "Oh yeah, you gotta pump that out!  We just don't want the little critters gnawing on your nipple."

Me: ::: DIES LAUGHING AT HIM :::  "Yeah.... we'll talk about that when we get there." 

I DON'T THINK SO!  Granted, I'll probably still be working and have to pump anyhow, but the whole time? HAH!  Seriously, I about fell off the couch.

Yes, the words "critters" and "gnawing" ALMOST made me mad, but really just made me laugh a whole lot.  He's always got interesting vernacular for just about everything. 

Example:  He still uses the phrase "Shucky Darn Darn" a whole lot.  I blame the northeast.

Hmmmm, that's very interesting that he thinks pumping won't ruin them, just the baby sucking on them.  He probably just doesn't want to share.  Well, my DH can tell you that he didn't have an opportunity to share, he had to give them up till Colton was weaned.  I might be nicer this time around, if he is lucky.

Ehh.. yeah, but I didn't really think it would really get anyone angry.  For both me AND him, all of this is so far in the future, its just thoughts we're bouncing around to each other.  Entertainment indeed, huh?

Lol, that is hilarious!

Next week you can let him know that the pump distorts the nips WAAAAAY more than the critter. At least in the short term (like, right after you pull off the pump or critter), no idea about the long term. Hell, after 29 mos (as of today!) of continuous BF mine still look the same as they did before I got PG.

Totally. Don't make me show him before and after pictures. The pump does all sorts of weird (but reversable) things to my nips!
