I have DD on the Parent's Choice sensitive formula. She didn't have reflux or anything, the regular formula just made her so constipated and since 3 months old she has done really well on the sensitive kind. I am worried that she since she hasn't had any lactose in her diet that it might be a shock if I introduce yogurt and then later on cow's milk. Did you slowly introduce lactose formula back into the diet first? Any suggestions?

Re: If your baby drinks lactose-free formula
When we began formula, we started DD out on Similac Isomil because we had a free sample of it - she didn't have any issues that led us to believe she might need dairy-free.
Anyway, one of the first solid foods she loved was yogurt. She ate it with no problems whatsoever. She now eats all kinds of cheese and yogurt with no problem.
ETA - we didn't start solids until 8m, and yogurt was one of the first.
Is your DD lactose intolerant? Or does she have a milk protein allergy?
Baby D has a milk protein allergy. We've tried transitioning her from Nutramigen to regular cow's milk-based formula a couple of times (with no luck - she still reacts to it). We started by adding 2 oz of regular formula into her bottles for a week. Then 4 oz for a week. Then 6 oz. Until she was completely on the regular formula. Unfortunately, a week after being on the regular formula (and being CONVINCED she was fine with it) she started throwing up.
We're back to 100% Nutramigen right now.
GL!
we did basically the same thing! I thought we were in the clear and then he just started throwing up like crazy
That's why I'm not even trying regular formula again and will see what happens at/after a year w/ whole milk.
