DD will be exactly 2.5 tomorrow and is a very reliable sleeper. Sleeps from 7.45 pm to 7.15 am (minimum) and then takes a nap from 1-3.
DS #1 started dropping occasional naps at that age and slept 5 of 7 days for a while. He gave up about a day a month and by the time he was 3, was only "resting" in his bed. We went like that for a couple of months, but he never fell asleep again so now we just have quiet activity time (reading, puzzles, etc.). Towards the age of 3, on the days he DID nap, he couldn't fall asleep until 9pm and often woke early the morning after.
My DD is 2 years and 2 1/2 months and she still naps about 2 hours every day (down for 3-4 hours within the last month or two). During the week she wakes up at 6:15 and goes to sleep at 7 and on weekends she gets up at 7 and goes to sleep between 7 and 8.
How long is she napping? With my almost 4 year old, we limit her nap to 1 hour to keep her from not being tired at bedtime (between 7 and 8) and it really makes a difference. She has a quiet time/naptime daily. At preschool they wake her after an hour and then she plays quietly for the other hour and at home, she typically plays in her room for a while before falling asleep and typically wakes herself after about an hour. We have been doing this for the last couple of months and it really works.
Re: Naps
Grace will be 3 in a month. She naps everyday about 2.5-3.5 hours. She has always been a great sleeper. She sleeps from about 1230-330 ish
She goes to bed at 8 and is up around 630 or 7.
Reid and Grace share a room so their bed time and wake times about the same. Reid sometimes will sleep in longer in the morning.
On the very rare occurrence she doesnt nap it is a horrible day for everyone
Good Luck!
p.s. Is it windy there today?? Did you have snow yesterday?
