Babies: 3 - 6 Months

BFF had baby yesterday (flameworthy)

My BFF had her baby boy yesterday, and while I am so happy for her, and very excited that our boys are only a few months apart, I also feel really bad for her.  I can't imagine going through that new baby stage,  where they are pretty much slugs, and barely sleeping again.  DS has been STTN for weeks now, and he's so much fun to be around.  He smiles all the time, and laughs.  This is a MUCH better age IMHO!!!

  • No flames here! I felt the same way... it was so hard those first couple of weeks, when you are putting all the effort in, and not getting much of a response in return!

  • I love this stage too, but oh how I miss my snuggley newborn!  I miss her newborn squeeks & how she would sleep for hoours on my chest!!  I miss it!!
  • Agreed... but I cannot wait to have another little one, because then we get to have the fun stages all over again too!  :)
  • My SIL said the same exact thing, but as soon as she had her newest one she discovered all the reasons she loved the newborn stage too. I am sure it is the same for most moms.

  • I had a similar experience when my cousin told me she was pg.  DS was maybe 2 months old and I was still majorly combating the baby blues.  When she told me she was pg I was outwardly happy but inside I was like "Congratulations you just ruined your life."  I know that sounds terrible, but I was caught off guard by how much I disliked the newborn stage.  It's much more fun now that DS is getting older.

  • I agree with you!  And those first few weeks are really hard!  I am definitely loving the interaction we get now and can't wait for him to be even more playful.

  • That first month was hell. BF issues, lack of sleep, baby blues. But it was worth going through that to get to this point. By 3 months, K was an awesome, fun baby to be around! And each day, she's learning something new.

I don't think I'll have the same feelings with the next LO though, since I sorta know what to expect.

  • Mason was the easiest newborn, and the easiest baby but now he is the spawn of satan. I dont know what happened. Hopefully it doesnt happen to you. Enjoy. He still doesnt STTN, so I am pretty jealous.
  • Thats not flame worthy! Totally understandable! My sister is due with her LO in August, and I feel the same.

It was hard, but I still miss when DS was so tiny!  Now he is such a big boy!  Time is going by fast!

This! There are definitely pros and cons to every stage IMO!
  • I miss the newborn stage...but definitely think this stage is easier, and more fun than the first few weeks.
  • Ahahahahah I didn't realize this was you until I reread the post and was like "wait a minute..."

Now you know how I felt when you had your baby :) I am totally excited for #2 though, I am ready now but we are waiting to TTC.

  • I really liked the young stage where I could just cuddle her but I also like this stage too.

  • If someone told me I had to start over again with DD as a 1 day old I would send her back ;-) I only have the fortitude to go through that stage once.
