Should I be seeing an RE?

This might be a dumb question, but should I be seeing or at least have a relationship with an RE at this point?  I have done all my initial testing through my OB and my b/w, ultrasound, HSG came out clear.  DH has MFI and has his urologist appt on May 13th.

I guess I just feel like an RE would be a good 2nd opinion from the urologist and also I have read many post about MFI which stated even with a varicocele many urologists don't think that will impact sperm count (DH's count was 3.1/4.3 on his 2 SAs ) that much so don't even recommend going through with it.

Or should I just be a good girl and be patient and wait and see what the urologist says?

Re: Should I be seeing an RE?

  • I would see an RE just to get another opinion.  If you are dealing with MFI then you may possibly need assistance for reproduction.  It cant hurt to see one.

  • Yes!  RE's are very knowledgeable, and you'll be glad you decided to see one.

  • I agree, you should see one. Be prepared to re-do all your testing though, from what I've heard (not experienced first-hand) they like having their own test results from their own labs. Good Luck!
