Babies: 3 - 6 Months

WTH is wrong with him at night?

I'm EBFing and bed sharing and I've decided I'm totally fine with waking up to nurse multiple times per night, but only when DS is able to eat and go back to sleep.

Last night he fussed ALLLLL night long. I thought I was going to lose my mind. Sometimes he has great nights, sometimes bad ones, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. No pattern, it's totally random.

On a bad night I feed him, I give him his paci, I cuddle him, I try moving him away from me and changing his position, I change his diaper, I swaddle, I unswaddle, I try it all. Last night he was fussing and kicking WHILE he was nursing - at that point I just want to scream, I'm so frustrated.

Is there any answer to this or is it just one of those things you deal with? I'm going to ask his pedi at 4 mo but I'm not optimistic that he'll give me any good advice.

  • Lukas used to do the kicking/fussing while nursing--I think it happened when he wasn't hungry but wanted to comfort nurse and milk was coming out which made him mad

Mason does this all the time too.  Totally off the topic of this post. . . where did you get that for your tub?  I have been looking for something like that!

  • I would get no sleep whatsoever if I bed shared with Sabrina. While she has calmed down quite a bit the past several weeks, she still makes little noises and thrashes about at times and I just can't fathom sharing a bed with her.
