This is a list of women who are dealing with PCOS. Anyone can join in, so let me know if you want to be on this list! We can keep track of everyone?s cycle, offer advice, and support for each other. We check in every week, and the check-ins can always be found in the PCOSbio.
Good luck and lots of sticky baby dust to everyone!

QOTW: Question from daves_sweetpea: Girls who experience precocious puberty are at a higher risk of developing PCOS. My puberty was early but still in a normal range. I wonder what experience others have. https://www.mayoclinic.com/health/precocious-puberty/DS00883/DSECTION=complications
Re: ~*~*~ PCOS Check-In ~*~*~ SAIFW
Update: BFP on 4 FRER and one CBE digital (I have one more stick to pee on but I'd hate to be obsessive about it
). REALLY nervous about the beta. DH was so excited when I told him last night, and I'm so afraid of getting bad news.
QOTW: My period actually started a little on the later side. I didn't get my first period until I was in 9th grade (about 1-2 weeks before my 15th birthday). Still within what's considered normal, but at the later end of that range.
Hey Chickadees,
Yesterday was my CD 11 check in, the doctor found lots of small follies on my right (no good) and two 11 mm follies on my left. He thinks they are still working their way, so he ran blood work and we were pleased to see that my estradiol doubled (finally!) so it seems the meds may have worked this time. I go back on Monday (CD16) for another ultrasound/bloodwork to see if I can keep moving along. Cross your fingers
QOTD - I was 12 and a half...in a bathing suit and mortified. I was having irregular cycles as far back as I can remember. Finally my aunt (I'm a motherless daughter) convinced my father that BCP's would regulate me and went on them at age 16. I was on and off of them throughout college, and when I went off of them I had formed cysts and would stop getting my period. hence the doctor would put me back on them, never focusing on the problem. Fast forward 12 years later (july 2009) my husband and I decided it was time to start a family. went off of the BCP and there went my regular cycles and more cysts came about. Was diagnosed with PCOS January 2010 by my ob/gyn and moved to an RE immediately.
Good luck to everyone.
Diagnosed PCOS & MFI-Success with IUI
Update - have not had AF since my BFN and I'm pretty sure I won't get one until I go on BCP or cycle again. I'm considering doing another IVF over the summer.
QOTD - I was in 5th grade when I got my first. I had extreemly heavy and painful periods to the point I couldn't go to school, just laid in bed curled up in a ball all day. They were every 2 -3 months, sometimes longer. But then when I was 16, I got my period for almost a year straight. That's when they finally decided that something must be wrong. Went on BCP. But every time I've had to go off BCP since then (surgeries, ttc .. .) i have NOT gotten a single period. I went over a year without a period before they put me on clomid.
Tara & Dave - TTC since September 2006
PCOS - dx 1999 (amenorrhea) | freakishly long fallopian tubes
Hypoglycemic | thyroid issues | severely anemic
Multiple Clomid cycles of 50, 100, 150 - absolutely no response
Follistim 50/100 | Follistim 75/125 | Follistim 100/150 IUI - all BFNs
Converted IVF - BFP - m/c | FET - BFN | IVF #2 = BFN
IVF #3
Update: Waiting for AF to show up so we can get this new medicated cycle on the road. I'm a little nervous because I sort of came out on FB today, fingers crossed for no stupid comments on NIAW.
QOTD: I was a gymnast when I was young so I had late onset puberty
Update: I start the PCOS study meds on Friday, CD 5. I go for bloodwork and an ultrasound that morning and then I'll be randomized into one of the two groups and will start the meds
I've got my fingers crossed for my first ever ovulation!!
QOTW: I started my first period at age 13, in 8th grade. I had regular, not remarkable in any way, cycles all through high school and college. I started BCP's during my senior year of college, and It wasn't until I stopped them that I began having cycle issues. I started in the "normal range" so I don't know if that had any effect on me in particular.

2/13/12 - We proudly welcomed our daughter, Hadley Teresa!
Lots of Luck to all of 3T/IF
Update: I'm on Clomid 100mg right now. I was not expecting to be able to use Clomid again, but my cyst resolved on it's own and the RE said there was no reason why I couldn't try Clomid again. So, I'm trying it with TI or IUI. I'm on vacation for a week and so we'll see RE when we get back and see if we O-ed or not. If not, we'll do the IUI when ready.
QOTW: I've never heard of this....hmmmm. But I don't feel I experienced precocious puberty, because I started mine the Summer before 8th grade, I was 13. But my periods were always irregular, so by 15 I was put on BCPs to regulate my cycles and I stayed on them until I was 24. I kinda always knew something was up, but I didn't know a lot about PCOS. But honestly, I think 13 is a pretty average age to start your period.

QOTW: I got my first period when I was 15. I think that is pretty average, isn't it?
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
Had my CD 3 u/s and b/w today, and starting Gonal-f injections tonight. I go back in on Monday and then every other day until its time for the trigger shot. I'm very glad they made me give myself a practice shot last week, so I'm less nervous about it!
QOTD: I got my first AF when I was 13 (almost 14), so pretty average.
Congratulations Williaw and QuiltingBee!!
Update: I had my first follie check (100mg of Clomid) yesterday morning. I have four follies on each side, but the biggest is only 6mm on CD10. I know that it's still early but I was incredibly disappointed. I feel like I'm going down the exact same path as last cycle when the cysts didn't grow at all, and then just disappeared by CD22. I have my next follie check on Monday morning. If anyone could send some follie growing vibes my way I would appreciate it.
I had a big cry with my Chiropractor whom I also work with once I got to work. It helped to just let out the emotions before having to slap on a happy face and pretend like everything is fine when I had to start work.
QOTW: I got my first period within the normal time frame. I did find it interesting when the article talked about height, and people that go through Precocious Puberty are often taller than their peers but then their growth stops and they are shorter than average by the time they are adults. I'm not shorter than average, I would consider 5'5" average, but I was taller than everyone (boys included) in grade school and then I just stopped growing. Hmmm.
Diagnosed with PCOS March '10 - Started 1000mg of Metformin

After 3 unsuccessful Clomid cycles, FSH+Ovidril+IUI+Progesterone=BFP!
Time to make Emilie a big sister!
May '16 2.0: Letrozole+FSH+Menopur+Ovidril+IUI+Progesterone=BFP! first beta-45.44, second beta-148
I think this is awesome, but have missed the last couple of check-ins? Can I be added to the list? DH and I have been TTC since Feb. 2010.
I was diagnosed with PCOS last June after almost a year of irregular periods, beginning with when I started BCP right before my wedding. I went from getting my period every 2-3 weeks to not getting it at all.
I first got my period when I was 10, so very young and had irregular periods until I was about 18. Then, they became regular until I started BCP a couple of weeks before my wedding.
Update: I'm at the end of my 2ww. I had a neg test and am pretty sure I'll be starting my period in the next couple of days. Husband finally went to have his SA done this morning. Hopefully everything turns out ok in that department. Once we have those results we can move forward with further treatment.
QOTW: I was 13 and in the 8th grade. I was the last girl in my class to start, although it was a really small class. I was pretty irregular from the start. My mom and gyn kept telling me that my body would regulate as I got older. I finally went on BCP just before I turned 15.
Nothing really new to update...we are going to be waiting until September to go to the RE when our insurance will cover it. Right now I'm just working on losing some weight.
QOTW-I started my period when I was 11,after about 2 years they became pretty regular. Once I hit around 17 I started getting the dark pigmentation on my neck and under my arms, which then they ran all the tests for pcos, and put me on BC. My older sister also has pcos, and she started her period when she was 8.
No update on me, life has gotten in the way once again and I am behind on getting back to the RE to have my thyroid re-tested since upping meds a couple months ago. I need to get in ASAP as my rx doesn't have any more refills and I'm almost out.
QOTD: I did not have any signs of precocious puberty... my cycle didn't start until I was 12-ish.
Still in the 2 week wait... 1 week down, 1 to go... though I plan on testing on Monday since I'm too impatient
As for the AF... I started kind of late and after I started I never had a regular period. I remember my mom taking me to the gyn at 15 because I'd go so long without AF showing up. Guess that should have been my first clue but the gyn insisted its completely normal at that age (which I'm sure it is but by 19 when I decided to go on birth control to correct it, I feel like my doctor should have done some testing!) Hindsight is 20/20 though.
Update: I'm 12dpIUI with a BFFN on FRER this morning, so waiting on AF. Then jumping into 100mg clomid w/ IUI.
QOTD: My period started early-ish I think I was 12. I don't remember them being regular but also don't remember if there were irregular. I went on BCP when I was 16 because my friend wanted someone to go with her, so I figured why not. Stayed on them until last April.
~Life After Infertility~
Waiting on AF to start my next cycle. Going to do another IUI next month, if all goes as planned. (hopefully won't be on vaca at that point)
QOTD: I actually started to get my period later than normal. But that's just me, late with everything!
We canceled our IVF so we can save more money. It sucks.
QOTW: I got my first period when I was 11, seems normal to me. Although, I am short and am 5"2 on a good day.
Me: PCOS/Amenorrhea DH: Azoospermia due to Y Chromosome Micro Deletion IVF w/ ICSI on hold until further notice
Hope
I am 1dpIUI! I got for progesteron check on 5/3. Beta is 5/11. I'm worried that my body ended up suppressing ovulation but I guess Ill find out next week.
QOTD: I didnt get my period until the late side of 13. I think I got it for a few months consecutily and then it peaced out for about a year. My mom dragged me to 2 gyns until a friend of hers read about PCOS in Good House Keeping or Womans day. She then took me to the top RE in that state of maryland for PCOS at the time.
I've been kind of lurking lately since we're taking a short break for health, mental heath and financial reasons.
QOTW: I started wearing a bra in 5th grade & got my period in 6th grade, which I definitely thought was early!
Update: IUI#2 this morning so now I'm in the 2ww. DH's sperm count was the best ever so as of right now I am hopeful.
QOTW: I started my period when I was 11, so early but I think is still considered in the normal range.
IUI#3 got cancelled for poor response at my follie scan on wednesday. So we are having a consultation about inject +IUI vs. IVF (I want to do IUI and injects)
QOTD: I started late-ish, I was almost 16!!
Congratulations to Williaw and QuiltingBee!!
Update: Started clomid- in 2ww but hopes are low because DH has not been on his meds long enough
QOTW: I was 12. It was the day of my best friend's pool party/slumber party. I remember going to the slumber party that night and telling all my friends!
Please add me!!
Update: I am currently waiting for AF after a month of BCP because of cysts. If u/s looks good, we will do Femara and do our first IUI.
QOTW: I was 14 and it was the day before ninth grade. I was so mad and embarrassed. It came randomly and heavy. Then I was on the pill for over 11 years before going off last March. Never heard of PCOS and don't have many symptoms. I guess I am a "lean" PCOS girl.
*PCOS bio* *Cold Hands, Warm Heart*
Can I be added to the list please? We have been ttc since Feb '09.
Right now CD 25, 5 cycle of clomid, now 150mg + menopur. Had 2 good follicles but symptoms from trigger have all but dissappeared so guessing AF is emminent...
Getting ready for IUI next week!!!
Currently on clomid and HcG round 2.
Wish me luck! I spread baby dust on all of yas!
