We finally got a cot as DS is starting to outgrow his moses basket. Last night was the first night in his cot (still in our room as we haven't gotten a monitor yet) and it didn't go very well.
I got him a sleep bag (with fasteners at the shoulders) since he likes to kick off his blankets and tried him at first just in the cot like that...no dice. To be fair, he has been sleeping on his side in a positioner in the moses basket so when he woke up crying after 2 hours I put the positioner in his cot, took him out of the sleep bag, and tried using his regular blanket (tucked under each side of the positioner). 3 hours later he was awake again (3am), I managed to get him back to sleep, but he was up again 3 hours later so I let him go as long as I could until he started to get upset and cry and I gave in and brought him downstairs at half-six in the morning.
I know it was only the first night, but I'm feeling a bit frustrated. He still startles himself awake at 4 months, which is one of the reasons he was being placed on his side to sleep. He's way too wiggly to swaddle anymore, but I don't know what else I can do...
