My PISA just died and only 3 months in - the first 3 I used a hospital grade. I noticed that it was acting up a bit so I called Medela last week. They sent me a new one and it arrived two days ago.. not a moment too soon because my pump just died and if I had not called I'd be in really big trouble. So watch your pump carefully! With mine, I noticed that the motor seemed to be making a strong noise, then a weaker noise, stronger, weaker etc..

This is why I bought a hand pump for a back up. DD is finally at the breast but when I was EPing we decided to purchase a hand pump  and if you tell medela you EP they usually overnight things!

Did you just call Medela when you thought it was going out?  We got my pump sorta sudden (DD was born 4 weeks early).  In that chaos, I don't even know where we put the receipts or if we even kept them.  Did they ask for all that?  Now I'm worried.

They sent out the pump before they received a copy of my receipt. I actually got mine off my registry so I faxed a copy of it, but not til two days later. They sent me the pump anyways.

My PISA died at 3 months too! (I was EPing at the time, she's back to the breast now). I luckily have two (one is a much older one given by a friend and its the one I use at work) so I was ok. I hoped it was a fluke but thats disheartening that someone else's broke that soon too.

 

ETA- I called and they sent it overnight. I bought mine online and had an email confirmation, so I forwarded that to them.

I'm done pumping, but my PISA was sounding pretty weak at the end and it didn't feel strong on the highest setting.  I EP'd for 3 months, but for 2, I rented a pump.  I want another LO, so I think I'm going to call them.
