BF problem/question

I just posted this on the breastfeeding board but am posting it here to see if anyone knows.

It just started today. I noticed a white spot right in the middle of my nipple. It's sore...mainly when I'm nursing my DD it hurts. Clothing brushing against it is irritating too. 

I looked online to see if I could find anything and I see either a milk blister or thrush. I'm just not sure. Just wondering if anyone could help me before I give the doctor a call.

    Sounds like thrush to me.  I have had it twice as has my son.  It is irritating and it felt weird almost like he was itching it as he ate.  They gave me Nystatin.  I would call as soon as you can so if it is thrush you can get it under control and hopefully your little one will not get it too.

    It could also be a clogged milk duct or a milk blister (if it is larger and more clear-ish). I've had a clogged duct, which was a hard sore white spot that cleared up when I squeezed the blockage out in the shower and I've also had a milk blister which was clear and super painful, eventually popping to become an open wound, then a scab that lasted for a couple weeks. Lots of lansinoh helped heal it, though.
