Sawyer Brock
Does it flow? I love both names. I think I would l love to call him Brock and it would sound so good with our last name. The perfect name for high school football star or movie star.
Plus, Brock would be a hard FN to find a middle name for.
Re: What do you think of this name combo?
I like it. But, it might be hard to find a middle name for Brock but not impossible. Especially if you like it. Here are some ideas off the top of my head...
Brock Joseph
Brock Samuel
Brock Evan
Brock Nathaniel
Brock Aaron
Brock Christopher
Brock Daniel
Brock David
I know 2 little boys (well, one is a teenager now) that both have the FN Brock. Im not sure what their mn's are. I really like the name Brock.
I really like the name Sawyer too. I think Sawyer Brock sounds good but I would call him Sawyer if that is what you name him. If you want to call him Brock find a different MN and use Brock as a fn. From someone who is Renee Fawntane that goes by Fawn and has to explain that I go by half my mn to E.V.E.R.Y.O.N.E. please name him what you want to call him.
It is your son and you have the right to name/call him what you want. But, you asked and Im saying it gets old to go by a different name than your fn. Esp since I go by a shortened version of my mn. Ugh! I have almost considered legally changing my name to Fawntane Renee. It was actually supposed to be that until my mom/dad thought they should switch it in case I didnt like Fawntane.
LOL! Lucky-Ducky
Poor Blaire - her first name is Jacquelyn. That is one thing to consider - I'd have two kids going by their MN. And, Blaire probably has it worse. She'll probably be asked if she goes by Jacquelyn or Jacque. As a Kindergartener, she'll probably be like "huh?".
I like both names, but I agree that I could just never call a child by their middle name. Too confusing for everyone, and they will spend their ENTIRE life explaining to every new person that they meet what they are called. Could you do Brock Sawyer ? I think that sounds fine...
Brock Alexander
Brock Michael
Brock Christopher
What about a "family" name? (like your maiden name, a grandparent's name....)
Unless you're doing his name as a jr, just give him the name you want to call him as his first name. ?I think plenty of middle names would go well with Brock.
I don't like it together. I like both of those names, but not like that.
Brock James
Brock Michael
Brock Evan
Brock Dean
Brock Elias
Just a few MN for ya.
a kid I babysat went to school with a brock libra (they called him broccoli bra, very creative...)
I don't like that name at ALL. Brody has the same connotations to me without the yuck factor...or Brad...or..I don't know. I just think its a yucky name.
also, I am very firmly opposed to naming someone one thing, but calling them by another thing. name the kid what you're going to call it. (aside from nicknames- but you know what Im talking about.)

I agree with the others re: using the name you will call them by as their first name. I have a *lot* of family members who go by their middle names, and it doesn't make any sense to me. My step dad even goes by a shortened version of his middle name. (His name is Francis Anthony and goes by Tony).
Sawyer as a first name always throws me off. It was my maiden name.
Ditto pp about using a middle name as a first name. I'd just name him what you want to call him.
Brock is NMS and I don't think it flows well with Sawyer.
