LOs with allergies

What meds is your LO on? How long did it take for the symptoms to subside? Did you find any side effects associated with the medication?

DS has been diagnosed with allergies - nasal congestion, runny eyes, eczema, shiners. He was put on a .5 tsp of Childrens Zyrtec at bedtime.

  • Zyrtec, and we started last Friday, and he's been runny nose free for 2 days already.  No side effects so far.

DS has nasal congestion, runny eyes, and eczema, although we started controlling the eczema a few months ago with Eucerin.

  • DS has been on Zyrtec every morning(during allergy season) for almost 2 years now and has had no side effects. His allergies were so bad this year that the pedi added Singular at night and he has not shown any side effects from that either.

  • DD takes either 1/2 tsp Zyrtec or Claritin twice per day. I haven't noticed any side effects. Her symptoms seemed to subside within a couple days at the most. This was after having a runny nose for literally months! We found that Claritin works better for DD. I know this differs from person to person.
