DD has RSV. :(

She was running a low-ish fever Mon & Tues with no other symptoms so we just chalked it up to teething. Well, late last night she rolled over towards me and her crazy body heat woke me up.. took her temp. 102.7! Gave her motrin and obsessively checked her temp a gajillion other times between 1 - 5am. {Thank goodness for a temporal thermometer!} The motrin brought her temp down to about 100, but it spiked back up by 9am. I called the pedi when they opened to ask about the fever and mentioned that she had no other symptoms, but when I met DH to get DD after work she was coughing like crazy and breathing loudly and sounded raspy. Awesome. When the nurse called, I gave her the new symptoms and she asked us to come in. The dr listened to her lungs and said they sounded "pretty clear" but she wanted to run an RSV test just to rule it out. Except we couldn't rule it out because it came back positive. Major suck.

Poor DD has been running fever around 100 with meds all day, coughing to the point of gagging herself all the time which then makes her cry.. which then brings on more coughing. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. The only time I've been able to put her down without her crying was in the bath, and even that only lasted a few minutes. My poor girl is miserable. :(

We were told we seem to have caught it early so we should prepare for it to get worse before it gets better and that it can last anywhere from 1-3 weeks. I can't imagine her feeling this crappy for that long!!!

Sooo.. now we are on high alert for labored or loud breathing, monitoring her temp very closely to make sure she doesn't spike again, and just waiting for the ear infections that are likely to follow.

Any **healthy baby** dust you can blow our way would be awesome.
