Did anyone have bleeding during pregnancy and get an infection?

I had spotting for 3 weeks daily and then it stopped 2 weeks ago. Yesterday I spotted again. I had an appt with OB who asked me if the bleeding stopped and when I told him he said, "I would like to tell you that since you are 12 weeks you are in the clear, you are now at risk for an infection since you are spotting". I am scared and would like to know if anyone who spotted this happened to. Also how late did you spot until? No spotting today;)

Hugs to you.  I am sorry you are going through so much with this pg  I have had bleeding (due to placenta previa) but no infection.

with DS I had spotting until about 7 weeks, so 2-3 weeks of spotting.  Not infections.  My SIL had spotting off and on her whole pregnancy with my nice and didn't have an infection.

No, but I'm thinking that maybe since blood is coming out, must be your mucus plug isn't totally in place, your uterus isn't sealed off so something could possibly get up there?  Did he say no baths or no sex?  I do know some people spot their whole pregnancy and are fine.

Pelvic rest, no lifting more than 25 pounds and my mil told me no baths or swimming (she is an RN). Thanks!

I had spotting at 7 weeks, and then again from 16-18 weeks. I never developed an infection, and went on to have a normal pregnancy. I did have a subchorionic hemmorhage (sp?).
