Daycare issue (kinda long)

Almost everyday I pick up DD at daycare they have changed her clothes, I started asking why- and I was told it was because she had a diaper leak. I made sure they were using the right diapers and they were, but I was still confused.

Today I pick her up and her teacher shows me its a wet spot on her butt right by her leg, right where the elastic is on the diaper on her leg. I don't know why but this makes me so mad.

My child NEVER has a leak at home, not even at night, I never have to change her clothes because she had a leak. Why is this only happening at daycare? Is it because they are not changing her diaper enough? Letting her just sit in a bouncy seat all day? I am fuming mad right now.

What can I do? Should I just suck it up? Thanks if you read all of this!

  • You could keep a diaper count if you want.  They wrote down every diaper change for us and whether she just wet or had a bowel movement too.  If you knew the starting count at the start of the day then you might have an idea as to how often they were changing LO if they don't write it down for you.

I think that's an excellent suggestion.
  • I would make sure they know to make sure the little ruffles are pulled out on the sides. My LO has some leaks (he has no tush- so it all just runs right out), but he has them at home and at daycare. I mean, I guess it is not that weird to me, but I could see how it would be concerning if it never happens at home with you.

  • Breathe....it may be as simple as someone not putting her diapers are on tight enough.  Don't jump to conclusions yet.

I would just have a calm, non-accusatory conversation with the DCP.  Tell them you are concerned with the number of leaks she is having and the amount of clothes she is going through.  Do you supply diapers, or do they?  Ask them to let you watch LO being changed so that you can see if the fit is correct.
