I don't watch it either, but I do -- to my eternal shame -- read a lot of fashion magazines, and she is always in them and she looks trashy, so I have a bad association with that name.
But does that mean our children's generation will? Realty TV fame is fleeting, though it has a big effect on baby naming trends. Audrina has jumped 400 spots on the SSA list in the past year (and at least 300 the year before that, because it just appeared). I'd wager that is due to the tv show. Do people think now that all the 30-somethings name Laura are a result of the soap opera or do they just think it's a more common name? My association with Audrina is probably not going to be the one that peopel have when they actually meet your adorable little girl and her name is Audrina.
It's similar to the way I'd never consider the name Monica (because of Lewinsky) but objectively, it's actually a very pretty name.
In addition to The Hills, it is also the title of a V.C. Andrews novel, My Sweet Audrina. Which is quite possibly where The Hills person's parents heard it.
I actually think its pretty. And yes, Audrina on the Hills is lame, but the show in in its last season, and in like 6 months no one, especially your daughter will remember it.
Re: Audrina
Ohh yeah..point. I don't watch that crap, totally forgot about that.

Not me.

I agree I think its a pretty name but I almost feel guilty liking it because I cant stand the hills..
This is what I think of, too. I also think of VC Andrews when people name girls Heaven. Ugh.
I do remember thinking the name was pretty when I read the book, though.
