3rd Trimester

93rd percentile

is what baby is measuring. Welp! They say according to this, if I go to 40 weeks, we're looking at 9lbs 4oz. Anyone else growing a big one?

  • My LO is big too. Last time they showed me the percentile chart she was off of it, as in beyond the 100th percentile! Crazy right?

They were totally convinced that I must have GD, that was the only logical reason they could see but they gave me a second glucose test and I passed it again with flying colors.

My baby is breech so she'll be a scheduled c/s but my docs told me even if she miraculously turned head down, I'd prolly still need a c/s.

DH is 6'2 and 230lbs and I was 9lbs 11oz when I was born so maybe I'm just meant to have a big baby Big Smile

  • My boy is in the 53 percentile..

  • ONLY our LOs head is measuring in the 90th percentile.  Every other part is in the 50th...LOL  poor baby Ick!

Yowch! I'm not even sure how you could go beyond 100th percentile (mathematically that is). I was 7.5 lbs when I was born so maybe the growing will slow down? An interesting thing the dr. said was that the father's birth size has no bearing on the size of the baby, they just asked how big I was when I was born.

Haha my LO's head is 90th percentile! Maybe the head just grew faster than the body :-)

  • I'm growing a big baby girl too.  At 26 weeks she was in 95th percentile and a month ago she was measuring in the 87th percentile.  I have another growth u/s Friday.    I'm hoping she's slowed down a bit more...we'll see!

  • 88 percentile here. . . baby was over 7 pounds at my last growth u/s at 36 weeks. . eviction date is scheduled for exactly 39 weeks. .  i had an 8 pound 3 ounce baby at 38 weeks for my first one with a lot of complications, so they want to be prepared for what could happen.

  • DS was above the 100%tile.  He was 9lbs 5oz born 2 full weeks early =)

This baby is measuring even further ahead then him.  I'm 5 weeks ahead right now.  I have a second growth u/s tomorrow.  Baby girl was 5lbs 3oz at 31w, so we'll see what she weighs tomorrow.

    Monster babies are wonderful =)

  • Mine was 75th percentile at 32w, 5 1/2 lbs.  I was a 9lb baby, and my biological father was 24 inches when he was born, so even though DH and I are pretty short, Maddox has the genes to be a beast!

  • From my u/s today they say my LO is 4 pounds 9 ounces and is expected to gain half a pound every week. Guess I'm gonna have a big one too! I wonder how accurate they really are though. When I was born I was only a 7 pound baby and I was 2 weeks late.

  • DD was 10 lbs and my dr said this one could be bigger. I agree with MrsJenni. After the birth is over, big babies are wonderful!
  • At my ultrasound yesterday, she was measuring 40th percentile at 4 pounds 9 ounces.  My doctor is estimating about a 7 pound baby or slightly bigger at 40 weeks.  So I guess she's fairly average.
  • Yeah, both my boys were measuring that high "larger than average" at their last scan a month ago.  I won't go to full term, but if they gain 1/2 pound each a week I am looking at 7-8 pound boys...ouch!

  • Molly is in the 90th percentile. :)  They are going to do a growth u/s at 37 weeks and go from there.  I know they are not always accurate but Brooke was 7lbs born at 36 weeks so it is safe to say this baby will be big too.
