Ooh! I thought of something else flameworthy!

... I figured that it would get lost on the previous post, since we're in a big religion/ Obama fight now...

It makes me so ANGRY when I see obese parents with obese children buying kool-aid, chips, frozen pizza, cookies, and snack cakes at the grocery store.

i agree!  i worked in the fitness industry and started a childhood obesity program at a gym i worked at a few years back...it was sickening to see that its the parents who are doing this to their children , but yet the poor children are the ones being blamed or being fat by their parents.  its really sad.

  • There was a woman on The Doctors yesterday who was obese and desperate to lose weight. She said she didn't like the taste of grease or fried food. They then showed her eating chinese food. The doctor had to tell her that it was fried and had 1,800 calories in it.

People are just totally stupid about food. I don't get it. HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW?

  • I agree.  One of my good friends is obese and she feeds her two kids fast food almost every night!  It's a HUGE pet peeve of mine.
  • I agree with this 100%
  • I am obese and I agree with this.

My obesity = my choice (in the most basic sense, that is).  My children?  Hell no.  If they're going to be obese, it will be when they are living their own lives out of my house.  Period.

  • I agree.

This exactly.  It's unfortunately been my choice for myself, but it most definately will not be my choice for my children.

  • YesYes It makes me sad and it really pisses DH off
  • Totally agree. Can't stand actually watching obese people or kids eating junk. Like the other day at a birthday party when a 2 year old was given coke by his mom! *cringe*

  • Agreed.

I totally judge what's in people's shopping carts. And here's the flameworthy part: I've found that I see more junk in carts at Walmart than at a nicer grocery store, such as Publix (or Kroger, or wherever).

    So true!

  • I think parents like that should be charged with child abuse. They are killing their children slowly. Its disgusting and irreprehensible.
