Baby Monitor

DH & I are looking for a baby monitor, since we will soon move DS (at 5 months old) into his nursery. There are so many choices... and since the lovely bumpies here helped me find a great crib for a good price, I was wondering if you lovely mommies could help me find an affordable baby monitor. Or at least tell me that ones you have used and your review on them.

I have the Summer handheld video monitor and love it. Totally not necessary to have the video, but it's really nice to have.

We were happy with the Angle Care one.  There are two so one can be in the bedroom and the other one in the familyroom (or wherever it is needed).  They are not expensive either.

We had a cheapo first years monitor that lasted for 4 years with DD (she likes to be able to talk to us from her room. . . and I prefer it to the screaming).  It was only 2 channel, though and we got a lot of interference from neighbors.

We got 2 Sony Babycalls when DS was born and I'm very happy with them.  They haven't been interfering with anything.

We also have the summer handheld and love it. It doesn't interfere with anything and the picture has been great. When dd was born last year we got a second camera so we could keep on in each room.

We have two of the FP dual receiver monitors.  It has 10 channels, which is nice if you have a wifi network in your home.  There is some static, but I think you'll always get that, and just moving the receiver a little will usually eliminate.  The first one has also lasted us 4 years, and going strong.  The dual receiver is nice, so you can keep one downstairs and one in your bedroom.  And, since it has 10 channels, we were able to get a second one when our son was born, and hear both our kids when they were in different rooms, each child on their own channel.
