Tay was a MONSTER this morning. It was BAD. No matter how nicely I asked her to do things, she pushed back and yelled and talked back and argued. It was a MISERABLE morning. 20 minutes to get dressed. forever to get shoes on, she pushed and pushed and she is now grounded for the rest of the day because I was so mad at her this morning. We were nearly late to school.
Then after school, her best friend tells me "Taylor cried at school because she is worried about her uncle."
SO I ask Tay about it and she says "Yeah, because Dad said he is going to die."
OMG! he is NOT going to die! He had a heart attack and wasn't doing too well yesterday (this is DH's uncle....so Tay's great uncle????), but he's doing much better today. But apparently last night DH took it upon himself to tell the kids that Uncle G. may die......
NO wonder she was a mess this morning. The girl is SENSITIVE!!!
I'm so mad. You know it would have been one thing if it were someone we are closer to that was super sick and all, but we see this uncle MAYBE once a year, I can't even remember the last time we saw them....they had an anniversary party awhile ago, and that was it. We don't do holidays with them, we don't ever see them. I mean, Tay knows who he is, but still. She didn't need to know more than "he's sick and in the hospital and we will say a prayer for him tonight that he gets better." You know???
I spent the last 15 minutes explaining that he isn't going to die and that Dad was wrong. That he is sick and in the hospital but doing much better and that she doesn't have to worry about him. Which is the truth.
Re: Another not happy with DH moment....
I really wonder at the reason behind why men say certain things to their kids.
Her behaviour makes perfect sense. I would be unhappy with DH for that one too.
