With the weather as awesome as it is, I'm thinking a trip to a petting zoo might be nice with DD. Any that you guys would recommend or NOT recommend?
I've never been to the Austin Zoo and I don't even know if they have one - but that is what I was thinking.
We also have a trip planned soon to Sweet Berry Farms and their website says they have one, but we have not been there yet.
TIA!
Re: petting zoo recs?
there is one sorta in my hood. I usually see signs for it, I'll look and see if I can get the info. I've been wanting to go to it.
H LOVED petting the horses and donkeys and goats at sweet berry farm on Monday
Rosie - yeah, that's kinda what I always assumed.
I'm kinda surprised though- with Austin being as young and outdoorsy and hip that they DON'T have a decent/regular zoo, you know?
At this point though, DD is just as excited by a trip to Petsmart (thanks Abbysmom for giving me that idea forever ago) as she would be by a trip to a zoo where she looks at animals from afar.
Probably because we're so close to San Antonio. I always wondered why Austin didn't have a professional football, baseball or basketball team, and I'm sure the vicinity to other big cities in Texas has something to do with this as well. That and UT being here.

It's $5, last time I went (which was like 6 months ago...) they had 3 bunnies, ~3 goats, 1 pony, a dog and some chickens running around. Megan still won't go for a pony ride and is nervous around the goats (they give you food to feed them), but she LOVES the bunnies! Honestly I was a little underwhelmed the first time I went.
that's the one near my hood
