complete meltdown

My DD finally fell asleep 15min b4 we had to leave for my haircut appt. Of course she wakes up getting into the car and then falls asleep for the 15min ride and wakes again inside the salon. She was great for half the haircut and then started screaming at the top of her lungs. I would have left her home but DH wont watch her,so she had to go with. I felt really bad,but i havent had a haircut since december and we rarely go anywhere,for this exact reason.

oh idk,he says he will,but whenever it comes down to it,he never does! it sucks,i might as well be a single mom.

I know this isn't the reason you posted, but I would have a serious issue with that.  I'm sorry you don't have the support you need from your DH.  Every mommy should be allowed to get out of the house, at least for a haircut, by herself.

if it makes you feel any better i havent gotten my hair done since aug 2009.... most of it is just falling out now so I really dont see the point. ha.

I'd be pissed that he wouldn't watch her so that you could go get a haircut, especially if he said he would and then flaked out on you.

I don't think the problem is your LO melting down.  I think it's your DH not helping out as a parent.  You need to talk to him.

yeah,he's a jackass,i thought he would have been a different dad. He basically thinks his only job is to go to work and i stay at home. It so exhausting   yeah im losing a ton of hair too but my hair was soooo long i have to hack it off lol

I hope that you can talk with your DH about not stepping up or else you are going to have a complete meltdown - I know I would!  Good luck

I agree with this.  I think all kids will have some sort of public meltdown at some point, so that's kind of unavoidable, although I agree it sucks.  But you should really be able to depend on your DH to care for his child too.

Im sorry your going through this but i must say im in the same boat! My FI wouldn't even watch DS while i went to get my hair cut to and this sounds just like what happen to me! The only time i get away is when i go to work and Friday is my last day...Im not complaining about being with my child by no means but mommy's do need a break sometimes. FI has never watched DS for anything...i get lucky to be able to  sit in the bath tub while DS is awake =(
