So I got our Indie Twin yesterday and I really want to love it. Really, really want to. But it's just not happening... I find it really cumbersome to fold up compactly so that I can actually latch it shut. And when I unfold it, one side of the handle doesn't really snap into place without a little extra finaggling. But it DOES handle like a dream, nice and smooth.
Am I just being overly critical, or having a hard time with the adjustment from a single stroller to a double? I'm starting to have doubts and am wondering whether I should have gotten a Bob Duallie...
Re: Not sure I love my Bumbleride :-(
After messing around with my graco duo (we nicknamed big bertha) - I would think you're having more of a hard time with it being a double. I mean, it's twice the stroller. As to the handle - mine doesn't do that...so maybe call bumbleride? I've heard they have great customer service.
I looked at both in person - and I liked this sooo much better than the BOB. Although - it's hard when something you hold so high (and is so much $) turns out to be less than perfect : )
Could you return it, if you're really not happy with it? Is there anywhere you could go to check out some others?
I don't have those problems with my BJ City Mini, but there are other things that make it not "perfect." For example, though the fold is amazing, sometimes I have to mess with the wheels to make sure it folds all the way back. I still love it though - I really don't think there is any totally 100% flaw free stroller out there
I agree that no stroller is perfect. I dont even have the second seat on my BJ select yet, I love it so far but its HEAVY. I also think its awkward to open, but im fine with it.
Rach03k-my single city mini does the same, I have to wiggle it when I pull on the handle to get the wheels to set right and fold flat. not a big deal to me either.
Really? Bummer!
I never, ever use that latch to hold my Indie Twin together. I just fold it up and throw it in my SUV/closet/wherever. I haven't really found that it needs the latch to stay closed.
Ditto the others, I think it's just tough to go from a single to a double. I still use my single Indie pretty often with DS in it, and I always have this "whoa! This thing is tiny!" moment at first.
(read it. you know you want to.)

The fold is the main thing that's bugging me -- so if you can live with that, then I think you're going to be good to go. It does handle Ah-mazing-ly well, nice and smooth. I'm hoping it's just because a) I'm so big and pregnant, and 2) it's just "different" from my Joovy Kooper and takes some getting used to. We'll see though, it might end up getting returned this weekend, which is too bad since I got such a killer deal on it
