We have been dealing with reflux with DS since day one. Poor little guy is miserable. We have had him on Prevacid for over a month and he is also taking Bethanechol. He isn't red-faced screaming crying like he used to, but he still gags, chokes, and spits up ( a lot).
I hate looking at his sad little face when he is having silent reflux. He cries and is so uncomfortable. I would be too if I had to keep swallowing vomit.
I have recently stopped eating dairy, chocolate, and caffeine and have not noticed a change.
We are off to the doctor today of a possible ear infection (DS is constantly tugging at his right ear) and to discuss his reflux. I think we are going to be referred to a GI specialist. I just want my little man to feel better and not have to spit up half of every feeding.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Re: Reflux sucks (vent)
I'm not a bf-er, but I heard that you would have to eliminate other items too (like butter and things that you don't think about that may have dairy).
Is he also gassy on top of the reflux? Ally's reflux isn't extreme and so we didn't do any meds. But when Emmy was a baby, OMG...she was sooo gassy (aka colicky) and she ALWAYS cried during the evening time form like 5-9pm. We then a lot of baby yoga for the gas, gas drops, this happy tummy belt thing, etc...She eventually grew out of it around 2 months or so.... Hang in there! Pedi told us that reflux gets worst at 4-6 months because they move around a lot more, which we notice that she has been coughing more often because I think she's spitting up a little in her mouth and then choking on it. But after that...it gets better....
