Retired Navy...

We are retired Navy and I love it. DH completed his 20 years May 2004 and is now home. I love the benefits it gives us because living in our town is rough. Jobs are low paying and hard to come by so we are thankful that we have his retirement to bridge the gap. Love the insurance!

Re: Retired Navy...

  • So you both retired from the Navy?

  • No just him. He has had a hard time getting back to life out the Navy but we are finally there. We had someone tell us that it would take at least two years and it has. DH works very well with the Navy's rules and he has a hard time understanding how things work in the "real world". Just that you do this and that and you get whatever but in the public you do what you are suppose to and you may get something else. He has had several jobs since retiring and luckly we have had the option of him quiting when he got stuck with something we did not like.

I would suggest to anyone that likes the military to do the 20 years at least and get the benefits. It was hard at times sure.

  • I think she was making a point that you are not retired from the Navy therefore there is no "we" in this equation.
Fuuck TTC - I'm moving on.
