After 16 months of endless night wakings, DS is finally sleeping really great on own! Well, he's still in my bed, but I've been moving away from him at night, and he will sleep for like 6 hours without touching me. This is a major deal for us! Typically, he would only sleep for about 45 minutes on his own without someone touching him.
Last night, he slept from 10-4 all on his own. I actually woke him up at 10 on accident because I was coughing, and then I woke him up at 4 on accident because I was pulling his covers up. So he might have slept even longer.
Of course, I'm still waking up at night and checking on him, but I am amazed that he is sleeping so well.
I'm sure this won't last long, but the sleep is desperately needed right now while I'm sick.
Re: Sleep is getting SO much better
Yay for good sleep! I'm so happy for you!
His whole life, I kept thinking, "Okay, at 6 months, it will be better..." "At 9 months, it will get better..." "When he's a year, he'll definitely be sleeping on his own." LOL - I am just trying to have faith that he CAN figure it out on his own. I actually think its more of an experiment now to see if he'll just become a good sleeper without intervention. ha (but it seems to be working!)
Yay for better sleep!!
I thought we were hitting that point too as we'd actually had several 8-9 hour stretches. But...not sure what happened this last week. Either his teeth are bothering him or he's feeling out of whack because I've been really distant and scrambling the last week getting my semester finished up :-(
