    When my Mom got re-married she was 50ish. She wore a long, off white sheath type dress. It was sleeveless and had a flowy-type cowneck.

    I'd say it still depends on body type.  I don't think age should be a factor.

    When my Aunt got remarried she was 50. She is a petite and thin woman and wore a mermaid style dress that was off white and black sequin dress with a rose coming up from the bottom. It was an evening gown and every elegant. I also agree with pp. it all depends on the body of the person and I don't see a big deal with what they do wear.
