Baby Registry for Twins...

Hi ladies!  I'm loving everyone's posts :)  This is a two-part question.

1) How soon is too soon to start registering?  I'm almost 12 weeks.

2) Is there a "Registry 101" for multiples on here?  Loved the Bump checklist for one baby....  but can tell from all your posts that it's a whole different story when it comes to buying supplies for multiples!

Thank you!

Re: Baby Registry for Twins...

  • I started my registry around 16w (and worked on it gradually) and that was plenty of time.
I have a list of twin registry recs on my blog:

Wow!  Thanks for sharing your list

  • Great list, thanks for sharing! I'm struggling with how much of what clothing to buy and for what ages. Gets a bit mind-boggling if I think about it too much!

I understand. I really didn't buy that much in advance--just the onesies, a few sleepers, lots of gowns, going-home outfits and a few other things. Between that and shower gifts and a few hand-me-downs, I really didn't have to buy anything else in NB or 0-3. And then I started shopping at my local MOTC sales and I get a lot of their clothes there! (And Old Navy, The Children's Place, Target, and occasionally Kohl's, Ross, Walmart or department stores.)

  • Great question.  Thanks for the info.  I haven't registered yet (I'm 24w+), but hopefully we'll do it this weekend.

  • Good question! I am interested in the responses.
  • I registered when we found out the sexes (like, literally that day lol!)

But before that I stalked BRU website for items I wanted just depnding on colors.

If you are not finding the sexes or going completely nuetral, you can start anytime!

  • Totally makes sense to wait until we know the sexes!  Based on this very thorough list, though... I'm thinking I might start now like some of you!

Word of advice.......do NOT buy clothing before your showers, particuarly if you are finding out what you're having.  I bought a couple of things when I found out b/c I was excited (and hey - they're MY kids, right??!!!), but I got BOMBARDED with clothing at my showers.  I think it's wayyyyy too tempting for people to avoid buying matching outfits for twins.  I also got a lot of my necessities (I think people were extra generous b/c we're having two), but a TON of clothing.  I ended up returning many items.

I followed Macchiatto's list when I registered and I'm happy that I did.  I know another twin Mom that had her babies a couple of months ago.  She emailed me recently about things she wished she got two of, or did differently, but everything she said was covered on Macchiatto's list, so I guess I'm in good shape!

  • I started mine at about 24 weeks. I actually did two registries. One at Babies r Us and the other at https://Stuff4Multiples.com. They had the twin highchair that I needed, the bebe bottle sling, twin carrier, twin strollers and cute onesie sets. they also offer great multiples discounts on baby bedding and furniture. Good luck and have fun with your registry!!
  • I started mine at 26 weeks. You might want to check out sites like https://www.Stuff4Multiples.com. They cater to families with multiples and have items like twin highchairs, twin nursing pillow, double, triple and quad strollers and much more!
