Multiples

One week apart...

My little nuggets are so predictable. A consistently reaches milestones one week after his brother. Once I see B do something, I know A is gonna do it also next week.

Poor A....he's always just a little bit behind his brother.

Do you guys have a more dominant twin when it comes to milestones or is it pretty evenly distributed?

Re: One week apart...

  • My little girl is about a month ahead of my little guy... I think it's normal.
  • mine do different things at different times - Gray has been first with big motor stuff (crawling, pulling up, rolling - he did them all first) but Gibby has done other things first - said Mama, found his feet, held his bottle, drink from sippie cup.  It sort of evens out for my boys - in different ways.

it just shows how they are such different people - and how all babies are different - doing things at their own pace.  It's hard not to compare when they are together all day - and I think it's OK to compare as long as you don't let it stress you out when one isn't doing something... ie) Gray started crawling right at 9mo. Gibby JUST started crawling last week at 10+ months.  He didn't seem anywhere near doing it- and then BAM - just started out of nowhere....so you just never know!

  • DS is ahead about a month with gross motor and DD is a month ahead in fine motor so it goes back and forth with my two.

  • That's interesting how consistent they are! Will has been a good 2-3 months ahead of Alex since about 8 months. (They both started sitting up unassisted around 7.5 m, but with scooting, crawling, walking, etc., Will has been way ahead. Also, they both just started talking in the past 4ish weeks. Now Alex has about 6 words and Will has about 20.)
