Re: what to feed a 12 month old

  • I felt the exact same way. Check out wholesomebabyfood.com, they have some great ideas/recipes. Just look at your baby food- combos of those are a good ideas.  DS loves his steamed veggies-broccoli, grean beans, carrots, sweet potatos. Never hurts to sprinkle some cheese on top. Snacks-cereal bars, cherrios, diced fruit, goldfish crackers, cheese. I usually make him oatmeal with apples, pears and cinnamon for breakfast. Lunches check out the gerber toddler meals if your in a bind. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Ok now I'm rambling. Just some ideas, hope that helps!

  • E's pedi said, "Anything you eat, feed to her." We also bought the Gerber snacks for toddlers: yougart, fruit strips, puffs, crackers, cookies, cereal bars. She loves cheese, bread, and lots of fruit. She eats pretty much anything now.
  • We eat pretty healthy, so DD eats whatever we eat. (as long as it isn't too spicy) Breakfast- bannana and cheerios, Lunch- veggies, grilled cheese, grilled chicken, beans, Dinner- meat/fish and veggies, pasta. So far she eats everything we put in front of her, but loves her veggies more than anything. I have to put veggies down last so she will eat other things. GL and have fun with it.

  • For breakfast, DS usually has a combo of greek yogurt and some fruit. We've tried eggs, waffles, pancakes - but somehow DS will only eat the yogurt. I decided on the greek yogurt because it doesn't have all the sugars of the fruit YoBaby yogurts and you can mix in anything you want in it (fruit, berries, etc.)

DS loves soups - so we usually do that for lunch: broths with veggies and meatballs, chicken with pasta soups, fish stew, etc.

For snacks we usually do cheese, bread with butter, DS recently discovered smoked salmon too, which he L-O-V-E-S :)

Dinner I typically make veggies of sort (cauliflower puree, sweet potatos, squash, green beans, esparagus) and then some broiled fish or another protein.

    GL!

  • We sometimes do "breakfast" foods for lunch & dinner too. She likes scrambled eggs, yogurt, blueberries, bananas, pancakes, french toast, grilled cheese, turkey, sliced or shredded cheese, chicken nuggets, meatballs, hot cereal, chicken fingers. I give her most anything I'm eating to try out usually for dinner.
