I'm 31 weeks pregnant and JUST heard that in the first trimester you shouldn't drink Green Tea because it blocks the absorption of folic acid and can lead to an unformed neural tube resulting in Spina Bifida. Is this common knowledge? How is it that I'm just hearing about this now? I was so naseous that 1st trimester, nothing sounded good, especially coffee. So I switched to caffeine free green tea. I thought I was doing the right thing, but now I'm very worried. Has anyone else had issues with this? Did anyone else drink green tea their first trimester?
