Once you get things moving, I highly recommend taking 2 fibers pills at least 1x a day (2x if you need it). That and some fiber one bran buds in my yogurt every morning are really helping to keep the constipation at bay this time.
I had major problems with this towards the end of my pregnancy (plus I was on an iron supplement which didn't help matters). I ate 4 prunes a day and had one Activia yougurt per day as well. If things got really bad, I would also have some Miralax, but I try to stay with the natural choices before I go with anything else.

I'm a L&D and postpartum nurse and wanted to let you know that it's perfectly safe to take docusate sodium (stool softener) 100mg twice daily. I'd take it twice a day until you have a regular bm and then you probably won't need it as much.
