Anyone take their DC bowling?

DD has a fieldtrip tomorrow and they are going bowling. This is her first time.

Wondering if anyone had experience with it. I will be there and I assume that they will kind of potty shot it down the lane.

Re: Anyone take their DC bowling?

  • We took DD a year ago. They have these roller coaster-type things for the little kids - put the ball at the top and it rolls down fast enough to make it to the end of the lane.

  • DS has gone several times and loves it. Some of the places we've been have the ramp things, some just have bumpers.

  • I took Keira a couple of months ago.  We had bumpers and the roller coaster type things that brightning mentioned.  She tried some without the rack and it took FOREVER to get the ball down the lane.  LOL It was all fun though.
  • we had so much fun taking DS bowling. wear pants that your ass doesn't hang out of bc if you are helping her, you end up doing a lot of bending!!!

DS is good for about one game ;)

  • We first took DS at 2 1/2 and he LOVES it to this day.  He gets really mad when we go to our monthly league and he can't go!  Have fun!

  • I've taken A a couple of times and she loves it. She started out with the thing they have to help them but refused to use it after a while. She was able to pick up the lightest ball and roll it herself. Pretty sure the bumperguards were up.

  • We just took DD last weekend.  She loved it!  We just used bumpers and I helped her roll it down the lane.

  • DS went last year when he was not quite 3 and although it was fun for about 4 times he quickly got bored.  Your DD is older and I'm sure she'll last a lot longer.  At the bowling alley went went to they had bumper bowling and they also had this metal "launcher" that the ball is just put at the top and the kid just pushes it off.  Personally, I felt he would have enjoyed "bowling" more if he could have let it go "granny style"...but they made him use the launcher.
